About

Elin McLain is a designer and musician in Portland, Oregon. Every design on this site is his. Elin Jurnaa is the name of his music project, not a credit for the design. Instagram is @elinjurnaa.

He designs identities, the materials that carry them, and lettering. With his bandmate Chris McMurray he built St Johns Yacht Club as a brand that could exist beyond the band. For his brother Clay he created 100 Kilos, the mark for Clay’s jiu jitsu gyms in Walla Walla and Dayton, Washington. He also donated the identity for Saved by Submission.

The header mark is his EM modular monogram from 2022. Teal is about #1AA99F and charcoal about #242021. The archive note names Roboto with that mark. That face is not loaded here.

EM modular mark: teal block letters E and M, with the script words elin mclain, on black.
EM modular mark, 2022. The header uses the blocks alone so they hold up small. The 2019 mountain M is in the archive and is not the site mark.
